Kyiv region was visited by the Permanent Representatives to UNESCO

Permanent representatives to UNESCO paid a visit to the Kyiv region. The delegation included the Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives of Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Iceland, and Canada to UNESCO. This was reported by the Department of International Cooperation of the KRMA.
As part of its visit, the delegation visited Irpin and Bucha.
In Irpin, international partners examined the destruction of the Central House of Culture. One of the largest cultural centers in the Kyiv region suffered significant damage during a full-scale invasion in March 2022. Before the war, indoor clubs for children and various events for young people and adults were held.
In addition, Permanent Representatives to UNESCO saw the destruction of multi-storey buildings caused by the russian invaders in Irpin. They also visited the “cemetery” of destroyed cars and the destroyed Romanovsky bridge, which became a place of evacuation of civilians during the occupation.
In Bucha, we visited the site of mass graves, which is located on the territory of the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle. We also saw a photo exhibition about the tragic events in the Kyiv region and got acquainted with stories of mass graves near the church.
The delegation members were amazed by what they saw and promised to continue to assist Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor.
